Work

here comes Saturday and I'm working again. Well it wasn't a bad day. Overall it was rather quiet and went quite smoothly.

I should point out however (for those of you who don't know) that the Playsation 3 launched yesterday. We had 31 pre-orders and acutally got 48 in stock (which wasn't bad). Today we had 17 remaining (5 of which where still pre-orders). We sold 5 of them (I did 2.3, yay!). But what does this mean...

Well, it isn't great, lets say that. I must give Sony a round of applause for being able to supply so many. We've only had 2 shippments of Wiis (including launch) for a total of 24. But, I was asked more times today if we had Wiis than if we had any PS3s left. I mean we sold 5 PS3s, right (with many to spare). But virtually every member of staff (and I checked) was asked around 3/4 times if we had Wiis in. We could of easily sold well over 48 Wiis, if we had them.

Why is this you think?
The innovative controller?
The Nintendo legacy?
Big name games such Zelda, Wario Ware & Sonic (OK, PS3 has Sonic too but beyond that they don't have much in the way of iconic games/characters)?
Of was it because the Wii is £265 less than a PS3...

I think all...
Just a shame Nintendo isn't making enough.

Food

I just had 2 dinners and 3 desserts. If you love me, you'll shoot me.

SL

Crashed twice, and the third time I couldn't stop walking forwards. Based on today's experience of SL, it sucks. Based on experience I've had in college with better computers, I have no feeling towards it one way or the other. If it didn't exist then I would neither miss it nor wish there was such thing. As it does exist, I neither want to become addicted to it nor have the people who built it burnt. I quite frankly couldn't have any more non-feelings about SL, the people who made it or the people who use it.

NOTE: This may sound angry, but it isn't. It is merely a bulk of text that should be read with no emotion at all. Just copy the words and put them into Microsoft Sam, then you'll get what I'm not feeling.

Eurovision

"We are the winners, of Eurovision"

No, that is not a statement about the UK entry but is a line from my favourite entry last year by Latvia.Anyway, the Making your Mind up thing was on the other night, where we got to choose who represented us in this May's Eurovision (which is right in the middle of our deadlines).
Anyway. I missed most of the show and only caught the last few minutes so I go to see our glorious entry. Here it is (hopefully).

Yes, it sucks doesn't it. It's like Steps but bad. Well at least we have a reason for getting a low score this year.
I liked our entry last year, don't think it should of won but I liked it and it should of done better (19th).

Sad Smily Face

Can you have a sad smily?

Anyway, the reason this be is that I realised 2 things today:
1. I cannot have tea with my friends on the 26th May as arranged as I work Saturdays
2. I want to buy some games but can't due to a bet I am currently in

Oh well.

May 07

OMG! 2 posts in one day, aren't you lucky.

Anyway, thinking to the future and how busy May is going to be I decided to create a small timetable of deadlines. Y'all will likely find the EDU & Tea dates irrelevant but the rest I think you will find useful.

A lovely bike ride...shame about the college

I could of gotten a lift to college today but I would of been unable to take my bike and would of had to bus home. I'm very glad I didn't now as it was a lovely day. The way there was tiring as usual but I was kept comfortable by weaing a T-Shirt and unzipped coat. Kept me arms warm and the breeze was nice as going down hill.
The journey home was much nicer though. It was nice and quiet in terms of traffic and despite my chain coming off once my journey was uninterupted. Managed to speed through the lights (most of which where green) and was home in under 30mins. The sun was warm, the breeze was steady and the uphill struggles wern't that bad. Twas a good day to ride.

Delivery Boy - Part 2

I was arisen by the sound of my dad sneezing downstairs at 0740 this morning. I new what I had to do. I was up and out of the house just after Friends finished with the last of my magazines in tow. I started on the Watsons and then moved onto Cromwell by doing the evens, then walked down the road to finish of Grenville. On my return to Cromwell I did the odds of Desborough followed by the remains of Cromwell.
I checked my trolley. Supplies where low and I still had half of Desborough, Tothill, St. Judes and the shops to go. I starter in the middle of Desborough, took what mags I could carry and the left the trolley in a safe place. I did numbers 60 and upwards, turned around and headed back to my remaining stash. I took it slowly from here as the inevitable was about to happen. I ran out of mags at No.48.
Broken I turned homeward where I had some toast and a shower. After Scrubs I went to the centre and explained my lack of mags. I took another 83 from what was left and went straight back to work. First I did Tothill & St. Judes, they are usually out of the way but from the centre it made sense to do them first. With my arms bulging from the strain of paper I turned east to Desborough, starting at No.2 and going upwards. I hit number 46 with 15 issues remaining.
The Embankment Rd shops where my last hope. Co-op, Tonking, Dave's, BETFRED, that strange carpet store and a charity shop. I delivered to them all and more. Yet I posted my final mag in the new Laundromat and locked onwards. The chemist, warrens and that shop that just sells tills will be Eastenderless this time.

£121.40p for me

Delivery Boy

Once every 6 weeks or so I am giving 1214 copies of a magazine (Eastender or New Heart News, but they are practically the same). Each mag gives details of the goings on in and around the Sutton area and it's my job to deliver them.
This batch however was a bit trickier than usual however cause I am now working Saturdays in Virgin and the mag always comes in on a Friday evening. The weather this time of year is an additional problem because when the mags arrive on Friday it was already dark and wet. Saturday was glorious sunny day with birds a singin' and trees whistlin', but I was working as mentioned above.
Sunday was quite wet all day. And while I myself am partial to a bit of God's tears, the paper that the magazines are made out of, are not.
This brought to this morning, still without a single mag delivered. I was up early via the suns warming rays and was out of the house come 9 with around 500 mags in my trolley. I started well but the rain began some time after (I don't know what time cause I never take a watch with me, it's rather nice really). But I stayed my course and it passed. Some time later it again rained, a bit harder but I just stood in shelter and it was gone before long. In this first lot I finished half of Embankment, Stenlake, Stanly, Lucas, Jubilee, Brentor (except No.30) and the upy-downys.
With the first lot done I went home and arrive at 11:45, sat down with some apple juice and meat and watched the end of 3 men and a little lady.
1 o'clock arrived and I was off again with another trolley full. I managed to finish Embankment and added most of Grenville, the Claytons, No.30 Brentor and Limerick to my completed list. Yet my bad was becoming empty so I headed off home to pick up the final lot. Yet before I could leave again it started raining. It didn't stop for a while and by that time there was no point in going out again as it was getting dark and my dinner was done.
So here I am, a few hundred my mags in me trolley still to go and the rest of Grenville, Watsons, Tothill, Cromwell, Desbrough & St.Judes to go. Will I finish them tomorrow? Hopefully.

Tea in Town

I went into town yesterday with a friend of mine named Michael and we had some tea. It’s kinda thing that we try and do every work, go into town and have some tea, it’s quite nice. We go to Hobbs near the Armada Centre.
Anyway, first we left my house and Mike mentions this list of things he needs to do in town. So I read through it and find on the list “play Nintendo DS”. He coulda told me before we left so we turned around, head back to mine and I got my DS as well as MKDS & NSMB to play on.
Firstly we go to Vue (where Michael works and is like 5mins walk from house, literal) so we can check out his rota. While there he says “Would you like to see Hot Fuzz on Wednesday”. I say yes, so I’ll be seeing that for free on Wednesday.
Now from here we walk onto town taking a very unusual route, I observed. Once in town we move to the Post Office so Michael can get a driving license and passport application forms. From there it is to Savers cause I need to get some sweeteners for me Mum, but they don’t have the band she likes.
Michael is now hungry and is on a detox from eating a Pizza last week, so we go to Tescos for some healthy food. Unfortunately Michael doesn’t like Apples, Bananas, oranges, star fruit, melons, grapes, berries or horsemeat. So on we go to M&S to find something better, but he can’t.
Now for tea. First I stop off in the muffin store to get a double chocolate muffin (£1.30 and nice and warm). In Hobbs we usually get a pot of Tea for 2 which comes to around £2.something and split the cost. Yet due to his detox Michael goes for some peppermint tea and I have the pot to meself (4 cups worth). I wrote a poem about it:

Tea on the table,
Muffin underneath,
Peppermint air,
Chocolate stained teeth.

Now back to Mr. M’s list and he needs socks and a guitar tuner. We go to this shop and he buys one for £15 but doesn’t take advantage of the re guitar lesson advertised. For the socks we go to H&M but they where to expensive so we went to Primark instead. Well we went to Primark, found ourselves in Next and then got lost in the children’s department. Eventually we found some socks (5 for £4), each bought a bundle and we went on our way to Virgin.
There we played this part style game on the Xbox360 which was enjoyable. I won J.
Now we feel out time in town is done and head on home. I invite Michael in to play some Wii but he has a stew waiting for him at home. I had Fish & Chips.

Second Life

Yeah. Well I tried running it at home and I was less then succesful. It appears that I will be limited to using it in college :(. Anyway, I've made a few slight alterations to my appearance (although non that are really noticiable). I'm still trying to get more money from online surveys but none have given me anything yet which is quite annoying.

Updates

Changed from PMT to GMT to make things clearer. Also added the subtitle above. Doubt I'll make any more modifications though (although I may see if I can this orange instead of green).

EDIT: Couldn't change the background colour but I added a cheap little hit counter.

Freecycle

Just found this cool Yahoo group called FreecyclePlymouthUK. Basically, if you've got something you don't want then instead of going through the standard motions of eBay or 2nd hand dealers, just post it in this group. Then if someone wants it, they'll come and get it from you. And of course if only posts something you like the look of, then you can go get it yourself for free!
Someone from a school has put a whole heap of PCs on there for free, they just need a hardrive. Coolo.
